More than 1 200 entries were received on various topics in six categories and 48 winning works were selected by the judges.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chairman of the Public Libraries Advisory Committee, Mr Sunny Lee, said that the Awards for Creative Writing in Chinese aim to encourage people who love writing to learn from the works of others, thus promoting literary writing in Hong Kong. He said he was delighted to see many secondary and tertiary school students joining the field of creative writing every year, which shows that the seeds of Hong Kong literature have thrived and that its development has been strengthened.
A list of the winners (in Chinese only) is available at the HKPL website at www.yhrtug.live/en/common/attachments/extension-activities/literature/awards-competition/2016AwardsCreative_Result.pdf.
